These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Northern Michigan Travel Guide website, content, digital products, and services. By visiting this website, purchasing a product, booking a service, submitting a form, or otherwise engaging with Northern Michigan Travel Guide (“NMTG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

1) Who We Are

Northern Michigan Travel Guide is a brand operated by Guidepost Collective LLC, a Michigan limited liability company based in Petoskey, Michigan. NMTG provides virtual travel guidance, trip-planning support, digital travel guides, and concierge-style coordination for Northern Michigan, with a primary focus on Charlevoix and Emmet Counties, including but not limited to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor, Boyne City, Boyne Falls, Charlevoix, East Jordan, Walloon Lake, and surrounding communities (the “Service Area”).

NMTG is a planning, guidance, and informational service only. We are not a travel agency, tour operator, transportation provider, lodging provider, booking agent, licensed travel advisor, or event venue, and we do not act as an agent for any third party.

2) Services Offered

NMTG may offer some or all of the following, with current names, scope, and pricing listed on our website at the time of purchase:

Ask Northern Michigan (Free Question) — a no-cost way to submit a single quick travel question and receive a brief local reply, typically within one business day, on an as-available basis with no guaranteed response.

Quick Local Recommendations — a one-time, email-delivered set of curated local recommendations based on the details you provide (timing, location, group, and preferences), typically delivered within a few hours to one business day.

Trip Planning Call — a scheduled planning call (approximately 45 minutes) during which we build out your itinerary together, followed by a written summary sent after the call.

Done-For-You Itinerary — a custom, day-by-day itinerary built around your dates, group, and preferences, delivered as a digital document, typically within 48 hours of receiving your complete trip details.

VIP Weekend Planning — full concierge-style planning that may include a discovery call, a complete itinerary, coordination of reservations and activity bookings, and on-call support during your trip weekend, as described on the current service page.

Arrival & Concierge Coordination — optional coordination of arrival-day touches such as grocery delivery, fresh flowers, welcome setups, and special requests, subject to third-party availability and separate quoting where applicable.

Digital Travel Guides & Downloads — instantly downloadable digital products (such as PDF itineraries, wine-route guides, and weekend blueprints) sold through our online store.

Private Membership (Guidepost Collective) and Preferred Vendor Partnerships, where offered, are governed by these Terms and any additional terms presented at sign-up.

Pricing, turnaround times, and inclusions are those shown on the applicable product or service page at the time of your purchase, which control if they differ from the general descriptions here.

3) What We Do Not Do

To avoid confusion, NMTG does not: guarantee the availability, pricing, hours, quality, or performance of any third-party business; make or hold reservations or bookings unless expressly agreed in writing; provide legal, medical, financial, or safety advice or guarantees; provide emergency services, real-time monitoring, or on-the-ground supervision; or act as an agent for any hotel, restaurant, winery, rental, transportation provider, vendor, or venue.

4) Client Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and timely information, including (where relevant) travel dates, location(s), group type and size, preferences, budget, mobility or accessibility needs, and any must-do items or constraints. You understand that incomplete or inaccurate information may reduce the usefulness of our guidance and may require additional paid time to revise. You are solely responsible for making and confirming your own reservations, bookings, transportation, and travel arrangements unless we have expressly agreed in writing to handle a specific item for you.

5) Delivery & Response Times

Unless otherwise stated on the applicable product page or in writing, estimated delivery windows are: Quick Local Recommendations, within a few hours to one business day; Ask Northern Michigan, within one business day; Trip Planning Call, scheduled at a mutually available time with a written summary to follow; Done-For-You Itinerary, typically within 48 hours of receiving your complete details; and VIP Weekend Planning, on a timeline communicated after intake. Business days exclude weekends and major holidays. Response and delivery times may vary during peak season, high request volume, severe weather, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

6) Fees, Pricing & Scope Changes

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Current pricing is shown on the applicable service or product page. Requests involving expanded scope (additional days or towns, larger groups, high customization, specialized needs, multiple revisions, or additional research or coordination) may require an additional quote, which will be communicated and agreed before further work is performed.

7) Refund Policy

Because NMTG provides time-based, personalized services and instantly accessible digital products, the following applies. Personalized services (Quick Local Recommendations, Trip Planning Call, Done-For-You Itinerary, VIP Weekend Planning, and arrival or concierge coordination) are non-refundable once work has begun or a deliverable has been provided; if you request cancellation before any work has begun, we may, at our sole discretion, offer a partial refund. Planning-call fees for calls cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are non-refundable. Digital downloads (PDF guides, itineraries, wine-route guides, and similar) are non-refundable once purchased, because access is delivered immediately upon purchase, so please review the product description carefully before buying. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have that cannot be waived under applicable law.

8) Revisions

Unless a product page states otherwise, Quick Local Recommendations and Ask Northern Michigan include one reasonable clarification follow-up tied to your original request, and Done-For-You Itineraries include one round of minor edits (such as swapping a suggestion category or adjusting pacing). Major changes, added days or towns, or additional versions may require an added fee, quoted in advance. Our services do not include unlimited or ongoing back-and-forth planning.

9) Digital Products & License

All digital products are licensed, not sold, for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense, publish, or share the files or their contents without our prior written permission. We are not responsible for your device’s or software’s inability to open standard file formats.

10) Third-Party Providers, Referrals & Affiliate Disclosure

We may mention, recommend, or refer you to independent third-party businesses (including lodging, restaurants, wineries, transportation, photographers, coordinators, mobile bar services, caterers, venues, and activity providers). These are provided as guidance, not guarantees. Third parties set their own availability, pricing, policies, and terms, and you are responsible for confirming all details directly with them. NMTG is not liable for the acts, omissions, performance, cancellations, quality, or safety of any third party. NMTG may occasionally participate in affiliate or referral relationships and may receive compensation; any such compensation does not affect the integrity of our recommendations, and material affiliate relationships will be disclosed where required by law.

11) No Guarantees; Assumption of Risk

Travel involves inherent risks, including weather, road and water conditions, closures, staffing shortages, seasonal changes, and crowd levels. Recommendations may become unavailable due to circumstances outside our control. We do not guarantee any specific result, experience, satisfaction outcome, price, or availability. You assume full responsibility for your own decisions, bookings, and participation in any recommended activity, and you travel and participate at your own risk.

12) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NMTG, Guidepost Collective LLC, and its members, officers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost enjoyment, travel or lodging costs, cancellations, injuries, illness, property damage, delays, or third-party failures, arising out of or related to your use of our website, products, or services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you actually paid to NMTG for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.

13) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NMTG and Guidepost Collective LLC and its members, officers, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of our website, products, or services, your travel decisions, or your interactions with any third-party provider.

14) Intellectual Property

All content created by NMTG (including itineraries, PDFs, written guidance, templates, branding, blog and journal content, and photography) is owned by NMTG or Guidepost Collective LLC and is protected by applicable law. It is provided for your personal use only and may not be reproduced, resold, redistributed, republished, or used commercially without our prior written permission.

15) Privacy

We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide our services (such as name, email, and trip details) and to process payments and manage forms through service providers such as Squarespace. 16) Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Squarespace and/or its third-party payment partners, and you agree to any applicable processor terms. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute after deliverables have been provided may result in refusal of future service and documentation of the work performed.

17) Communications

By purchasing from or contacting us, you consent to receive emails necessary to fulfill your order and provide your service, including delivery and follow-up. Marketing or promotional emails are optional and sent only with your opt-in; you may unsubscribe at any time.

18) Termination & Refusal of Service

We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate service, at our discretion, including where a client engages in abusive or harassing conduct, requests illegal or unsafe activity, repeatedly demands work beyond the purchased scope without paying for it, or initiates a chargeback after receiving deliverables.

19) Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, unless the parties mutually agree in writing to an alternative dispute resolution process.

20) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on our website at the time of your purchase or use applies to that transaction. Continued use of the website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
