Use this page to explore the Leelanau Peninsula wine region, narrow down the best stops for your group, and build a route you can easily plug into Google Maps.
The Leelanau Peninsula stretches northwest of Traverse City between Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay. It's the larger of Northern Michigan's two wine peninsulas more spread out than Old Mission, with more wineries, more variety in terrain and style, and a longer drive between stops. That's part of the appeal. A well-planned Leelanau wine day feels like an exploration, not just a tasting flight.

Planning Your Leelanau Wine Day
Leelanau is more spread out than it looks. The peninsula runs about 30 miles tip to tail, and winery stops add up quickly. Plan for 3 to 5 stops on a comfortable day and build your route around a geographic cluster rather than trying to cover the whole peninsula.
A few things to keep in mind:
Many tasting rooms open at noon or later don't arrive early expecting to get in
Several wineries have limited hours mid-week, especially in shoulder season
Summer and fall weekends are busy check for reservations at popular stops
The southern part of the peninsula (Cedar, Lake Leelanau) and the northern tip (Suttons Bay, Northport) have very different feels pick one end or plan a full day
